EVAN TROTTER-WRIGHT Theatre and Music ‘25

Music Director

EVAN TROTTER-WRIGHT — (he/him) is a senior from Fayetteville, AR with a double major in theater and general music and a minor in music technology. He has been involved with Waa-Mu since his freshman year as a writer and lyricist, Waa-2 member, and orchestrator. He was also a music director for the 93rd Waa-Mu show Taken Away, and was the first student to conduct the show. Outside of Waa, he frequently music directs on campus productions such as February House (Wirtz), American Idiot (Arts Alliance), Falsettos (JTE), and many more. Evan is a member of the Undertones, Griffin's Tale, NUMB, and the Iota chapter of Phi Mu Alpha.

 

AVERY POWERS Math and Music ‘25

Music Director

AVERY POWERS — (she/her) is a senior from Frederick, MD studying math and music, and she is thrilled to be back for her fourth year as a writer and music team member of Waa-Mu! Outside of Waa, Avery has music directed many shows on campus, with favorite projects including Cinderella (the 82nd Annual Dolphin Show) and Sunday in the Park with George (WAVE Productions). She is also currently working with co-writer Reva Sangal on an original show called Go! The Musical, which received a staged reading at Northwestern in the spring of 2024. When she’s not at a piano, you might find her deep in the third page of a proof or trying to convince her friends to play a board game that “doesn’t take that long…”

 

SADIE FRIDLEY Theatre and French ‘25

Lead Arranger

SADIE FRIDLEY — (she/her) is a senior studying Music Theatre and French, and she's so excited to participate in her fourth Waa-Mu show! For the past three Waa-Mu shows, Sadie has been a member of the Writing and Music Teams, as well a performer in the cast and dance captain (Waa-Mu 92, 93). Last year, Sadie served as the Lead Writer and performed as Jude in "A Bird's Song", a particular favorite. Outside of Waa-Mu, Sadie has arranged and taught music literacy for the Fayetteville Summer Music program and the Clemson Little Theatre, and she loves to write and share songs online @bookchickens on Tiktok!

 

SYDNEY ASTLE Civil Engineering and Music ‘25

Lead Orchestrator

SYDNEY ASTLE — (she/they) is a senior in Civil Engineering and Music from Severna Park, Maryland, and is returning this year for their fourth Waa-Mu show. Sydney has orchestrated for three previous Waa-Mu shows, served as lead orchestrator for two, and written music for two. Outside of Waa-Mu, they can be found playing percussion or writing music for video games. Sydney is looking forward to another unforgettable Waa-Mu season this year.

 

GREG DEMPSEY Neuroscience and Music Comp. ‘26

Music Coordinator

GREG DEMPSEY — (he/him) is a junior from Grafton, Wisconsin studying Neuroscience with a minor in Music Composition. This is his second year on the Waa-Mu music team, and he loves composing, arranging, playing trumpet, and singing. He is part of several music groups on and off campus, and his recent theatre projects include A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (Trumpet) and Beat the Champ (Trumpet). Greg is excited to continue creating music with such a lovely and talented group of people.
